The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. in a home on the 7400 block of Devon Street, Philadelphia police said.
The man, believed to be between the ages of 17 and 24, walked inside the 71-year-old woman's home through an unlocked door and demanded money, police said.
When she refused, the man punched her in the head multiple times and choked her, according to police. He then allegedly forced the resident to take her clothes off, after which he sexually assaulted her.
The man fled the scene in the woman's Grey 2014 Toyota Corolla and took her cell phone, and credit card along with him, authorities said.
The suspect is described as being 5'5" tall, with short black hair, and dressed in a white t-shirt with charcoal writing and army green pants.
